Rendel L. Solomon

Rendel L. Solomon is the oldest of three children raised on the Westside of Chicago in a rough neighborhood affectionately known as “K-Town.” The neighborhood has been challenged for decades with crime, drug activity, limited educational options, and poor housing. Throughout his educational and professional career, he has carried the attitude learned from his late Mother that education would be the key for him and his two sisters to rise above their surroundings. Rendel completed grade school in the Chicago Public School system, then went on to attend the Latin School of Chicago.

In April 2021, Rendel joined Goalsetter as Vice President, Operations. Goalsetter is a financial technology application offering savings accounts, debit cards, investments, and culturally relevant financial education to youth. In December 2020, Rendel founded Solomon Financial Institute (SFI), a financial education consultancy that seeks to equip children, low-income individuals, and young professionals with the confidence, knowledge, and resources necessary for financial engagement and empowerment. Prior, Rendel worked as a Managing Director with Muller & Monroe Asset Management (M2 ), a Chicago-based private equity firm that advises on approximately $1.2 billion of assets. Prior to joining M² in 2008, Rendel worked as an entrepreneur in the media and entertainment industry in New York and as an engineer at P&G in Cincinnati.

In June 2016, Rendel started the initiative One Stock One Future (OSOF) to turn one million youth into public company shareholders. OSOF uses workshops to expose young people to stocks, then purchases gift certificates for public company stocks so that each student can open their first investment account.
