Tytannie M. Harris, Psychotherapist, Certified Integrated Living Coach, Author and Inspirational Speaker is making a difference with her self-determination to help push for more awareness towards mental health. Tytannie M. Harris started her professional career 10 years ago in the Mental Health Field as a Psychotherapist. Prior to this transition, Ms. Harris was an educator where her passion for the welfare of children and their academic growth was her greatest fulfillment. Ms. Harris desire to led her to actively serve as a youth mentor to children in her community that later influenced her classroom environment where she realized she had a passion for students who were faced with social and emotional challenges. Her drive to become a licensed mental health therapist led her to Northeastern Illinois University, where she graduated with her undergraduate's degree in Social Work with a minor in sociology. Ms. Harris later received her master's degree in social work from Loyola University. Currently, Ms. Harris is the CEO of TMH Behavioral Services, P.C. a mental health private practice/behavioral health clinic that specializes in individual and family therapy, senior services and parenting support. She specializes in solution focused, trauma informed and strengths-based therapy bringing years of experience working with people from all walks of life. She is committed to helping you overcome obstacles in your life through transformation of the body, mind and soul. Ms. Harris areas of specialties includes, but not limited to; depression, work-life integration , stress reduction, oppositional defiant disorder, ADHD and (PTSD) Post-traumatic stress disorder.
Ms. Harris work belief is to create a safe space and a non-judgmental atmosphere where clients feel free and open to share thoughts and feelings. In addition, as a Certified Integrated Living Coach, Ms. Harris utilizes her greatest gifts of inspiring and motivating others toward the attainment of personal, wellness, financial, relationship and professional goals. Ms. Harris is also the founder of TMH MANCAVE, a nonprofit created to bring awareness and eliminate the stigma associated with the mental health needs black men require. As a Psychotherapist, Harris realized that black men were hurting and needed a space where they could not only discuss the issues that affect them but feel empowered in a place where culturally sensitive resources are provided. Through both personal and professional encounters, Harris witnessed firsthand the need for safe spaces for men of color to discuss mental and emotional issues through their struggles with connecting to others. With that said, Harris is committed to servicing African-American men because she believes that the emotional needs of black men are often disregarded, and the healing of African American communities should start with the men who often serve as the leaders in their households and communities overall.
